The grill master tending to the food
I was amazed at the amount of plants (and work) that was put into Don's back yard. There wasn't a blade of grass to be found. A man I can respect.
The Garden King's Throne.
One of the many ponds in the garden with Coi fish.
More ponds which were inter-locked with each other,
Jim Robinson admires the garden while enjoying a stinky cigar. All right...we were both enjoying stinky cigars.
You can see the fish in these shots a little clearer.
Looking at the back of the house from the gardens.
The front of the Pennington Ranch. Way too many BMW's

On Sunday, October 14 2007, Don and Jan Pennington threw their annual fall BBQ party. Lot's of people on and off motorcycles, lot's of food and a good time for all. The Pennington house is a study in wood. There was hardly a plaster wall to be found. Don is an accomplished photographer, and he had a lot of his black and white prints on the walls. This was my first time at the Pennington Party, and I had heard about the gardens. You have to see it to believe it. Trees, plants, attached ponds, with running water, Japanese Coi fish...wow. You'll notice there's lots of pictures of the gardens, and not too many of the people that attended. I rode with Jim Robinson to the party, and rode home in the rain. It was pretty exciting, but luckily I had worn my leathers and got home "reasonably dry."
